Living alone in their hometown comes with its own perils for senior citizens. In many cases there is no one to take care of them during emergency situations. Also, there are instances of these people becoming easy targets for anti-social elements.
As a result, old age homes and senior citizens’ communities are becoming increasingly popular over the past few years. While many of us have a mind-block about staying in such facilities, a deeper analysis unfolds several advantages associated with old age homes. In addition to security and healthcare, one can find several other people who are from similar backgrounds. New acquaintances and friends help infuse a new enthusiasm in life. It becomes easier to share the thoughts and feelings with these newfound friends. Thus, a new ecosystem of support is born.
Shree Samasthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math has founded “Poornaprajna Vasati Nilaya”, a full-fledged residential facility for senior citizens and a hostel for working women. 23rd Mathadhipati Shreemad Vidyadhiraj Teerth Shreepad Vader Swamiji of inaugurated the well-equipped old-age home on March 3, 2012 Saturday at 10.20 am. This is located in a four-storey building behind Gokarna Mutt, Carstreet in the heart of Mangalore City. This initiative like many others is a testimonial of the commitment of the Math towards the GSB Samaj.
This facility was further upgraded in the year 2017 to cater to the growing needs of working women of the Samaj. A working women’s hostel was setup on the first floor with a total of 10 rooms that can accommodate 20 women.

Citizens who wish to avail this facility need to apply at the math office. They will be required to pay a refundable deposit.
